Labeled Parts Of The Nina

16.04.2010 - Torres del Rio - Logroño (21 km)

Today, it was relatively difficult to us to leave the most comfortable beds in the hostel before 8:00 clock and it was then a little later, when we took today's stage in the attack. A gorgeous summer weather accompanied us and with it a great landscape, although one or the other mountain had ready for us, but impressive panoramas offered. In the beginning, during the first 11 km from Viana, a little bite was announced as the constantly changing up and down pretty much went to the shins. Once in Viana, we appealed for an extensive Fruehstueckspause patatas bravas and freshly squeezed orange juice and let cool left our feet. Half an hour later we got our walking boots then again ;-)) and started into the second half, a vast plain to Logrono. 5 km before the finish we crossed the border of the province of Navarre, and reached the next wine-growing region, La Rioja. Through an industrial area and over an impressive coal mine we walked in with Annette Martin of the United States and Mikael from Denmark in the city, not without advance or at Dona Maria to take a break, which for decades before the city limits of Logrono Pilgerpaesse tossing and sells drinks and souvenirs. On a bench under a fragrant lilac bush, we rested ourselves and refueled by the attractive surroundings with new force. Over a long bridge over the Ebro we came into town and we sought out the Famous city hostel. Since these, however, neither washing machine, nor any facilities for heating or tired pilgrims offered, we opted for a private hostel just off the road on a large site with lots of benches and that was the right decision. From the urban hostel we heard later that one had a cold shower and a cold that has at least one fellow pilgrims evil. This is a bit too much of a good. We had a 24er-bedroom, ample space and a hot shower. Lovely! The Pilgermenu we were in a restaurant next to the hostel and had fun with Ralf and Marlies for 10 The hard beds then you did by the way and let us fast wegschlummern least. Before falling asleep, I learned more from the Internet, that has an ash cloud of a volcanic eruption in Iceland across Europe were shut down all air traffic and a short detour to the Ryanair site showed then that at the moment, all flights from Santiago gecancelled. Because it's really fortunate that we still have three weeks until the flight back ... until then, everything should be done.

Given our good mood fits the saying of the day:
"Go your way, and He will carry out"

whole lot Regards Horst
